Hi, I was wondering if chickens can eat nuts or raisin, i have a lot of uneaten trail-mix but it's very salty, does that matter?
I already looked at the treat list on byc but they didn't mention either of them

I wouldn't give them anything salty. But for the future, mine love raisins. Don't know about all nuts, but commercial hen treats have roasted peanut pieces…one of mine almost chocked on a peanut, so I make sure the pieces are small.

We have a hickory nut tree and every year I get mad because I can't get the nuts out in nice big pieces and end up tossing the little pieces I manage to get out to the girls. They love them.

There is way too much salt in processed foods for us, and our body mass is much greater than a chicken's. I wouldn't give mine anything that has added salt. I don't even care much for it myself.
