Hello, if I breed a French black copper maran with black copper maran would they still be pure or are they considered different?

Chicken lineage (purity) is not determined by it's ancestors rather is based on appearance against the defined standard and judged by APA (Amercian Poultry Association). There is one exception that I know about and that is the Icelandics where to be considered pure an owner must have "paper" evidence of ancestry in Iceland back to the 10th Century (info from https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/serious-about-chanteclers.1380958/post-22701283).

The APA publishes their "Standard of Perfection" describing with illustrations what a breed looks like. If it looks like the Standard it is accepted as "pure" (conforming).
