can not reply to PM's

Hi, just over the last week or so I have not been able to reply to PM's. I have to go to the persons profile and send a new PM to reply to anyone. When I try to reply and submit my message, I get a message saying that I have to have text in the box. So I've tried clearing the editor and retyping the message, but the same thing happens. Don't know whats going on.
