Can quail carry avion disease?

I have a couple quail that I hatched out myself( Only about 2 wks old now.) Is it possible for them to be exposed to any diseases if they have not been exposed to other birds? The reason im asking is because my mom is scared that they carry avion or some other disease.

I'm not sure exactly which disease you're referring to. Chickens can pass on one or two diseases through the egg, but otherwise, no they shouldn't be carrying any diseases inherent in their being birds.

Did you get them from a hatchery or someplace else?
