I was like 75% sure what they are but am new to ducks and having some doubts on my assessment.
I have 8 ducks, I’m mostly asking about the 3 Muscovy. (The other 5 were supposed to be Muscovy hatching eggs but are obviously not lol, I assume the yellow ones are Pekins and if you have theories on what the brown ones I'd love to hear them)
Pickles - black barred, male? Pickles had most of the signs of a male - or at least that's what I thought. 'He' was obviously much larger than the others when I got them at 2 weeks old, although the size gap has closed a bit over the last few weeks. Thick legs, thick neck, walks like a raptor and sits on 'his' haunches occasionally. 'His' personality is much chiller and lazier than the others. This is what’s tripping me up though - 'he' is way ahead of the others on feathering out. It’s possible 'he' might be a tad older than the others - the seller had multiple mommas hatching clutches. So it’s possible I'm just seeing the age difference and none of these signs mean anything at all. Even accounting for the possible age difference of up to a week, I think 'he' is still ahead on the feathers though. How old does Pickles look to you guys?
This last photo is 10 days old - the other two are now at about the same feathering stage that Pickles was then.
Marceline - black wild type with darker feet, female? Marceline is the most active, curious, and friendly of them all. I think she just looks like a girl, right?
Sweet Dee - black wild type (pied?) with light feet and yellow wings, female? Sweet Dee looks a lot like Marceline, but has a slightly wider stance but I really can’t tell that well. She’s also kind of a butthead and is the most likely to pick on the others.
