Mavis ducked and tried to dodge the blow to his head, but was not fast enough due to the ropes which still bound his hands and ankles together. He half fell, half slid the remaining distance off Tianea and landed limp on the ground with a dull thump.

(Tianea already left)

Karin rubbed her cheek checked her knees then looked down to mavis. With as much strength as she could muster she kicked himin the ribs hearing the crack of one breaking she smiled.

Tianea stalked forward ignoring raven. Then she did a running leap andtackled brylla knocking thegirls head backing the tree andknocking her out. Tianea ran off with blod driping frm her stomache. The arrow bry,la had notched had cut her belly. Growling she ran off.

Brylla loosed her arrow a split second before the tiger plowed into her, barely having time to see it embed itself in the cat's belly before her head slammed back against the tree, the second trauma to her head in as many hours. "Karin," she managed a weak plea, perhaps not even audible to the younger girl, before her world went dark. She slumped to the ground, her breath shallow.

Tianea walked a few feet before stoppin ad dsilodging the arrow. She ran back to brylla and grabed her carrying her off back to karin. Once she returned to karin. Karin picked up mavis and carried him towards a base entrance. Tianea lay brylla down shifted and despite her stomache bleeding picked brylla up again and carried her inside with karin folowing. Tianea told karin to take mavis to the pit and meet her back at her room. The two split up and tianea carried brylla back to her room.

Karin carried mavis down to the pit walked inside and crried him down. She dumped him on the ground and left ignoring Terrick(?) She closed the door and went to tianea's room. Tianea smiled as karin walked in and handed her some bandages. Karin helped tianea nadage her stomached wound then grabbed a icepack and layed it on brylla's head.

The road was quiet as Terrick and two other guards made their way back toward the scene of the ambush. They moved slowly, constantly vigilant for any sign of the bandits. Terrick glanced at the sinking sun, judging they had just under an hour of daylight left. Working quickly, they pulled the bodies of their fallen brothers into a pile just off the side of the road. From each, Terrick collected something that might have had some meaning to them, intending to give their loved ones something to remember them by. They also gathered any weapons still lying on the ground, as much to deny them to the bandits as to return them to the caravan.

"Linden's not here. Neither is Mavis," Terrick noted as the three guards started piling rocks on the bodies. Could either of them be still alive? Terrick pondered this possibility as they worked.

Raven followed, keeping to the trees. When she saw the entrance to the caves she stopped. She shook her head and made her way back to the road and the caravan to watch them.

Brylla's eyes fluttered open briefly, but seemed unable to focus on anything and the girl slipped again into unconsciousness.

Linden was leaning up against the wall, attempting to sleep with his eyes open to pass the time. The pit was so dark that it didn't matter whether his eyes were open or closed, but sleep wasn't coming. While he stood there, he began to hear the faint footsteps of someone walking down the tunnel towards the pit. Assuming it was Col or Merek again, he stood up straighter and braced himself to be either killed, or brought to judgement before the new bandit leader.

What greeted instead left him worried and confused. Who had just been dumped into the pit? Were they dead? It seemed like the only logical explanation given that whoever it was made absolutely no sound as they impacted the cold floor, ten feet from the tunnel floor. He made his way cautiously around the outskirts of the tunnel toward Mavis, unwilling to cut straight across the middle and got lost or tripped on the body. Once he felt his foot make contact with whoever had been dropped, je bent down and was surprised to feel a shallow, weak breath eacape from Mavis' mouth.

Almost at once he recognized Mavis by feel alone, and let out a shocked breath of horror.

Karin muemured something about brylla beong awake but watched as the older girl slipped away again. She turned to tianea. "Dont you have smelling salts?" Tianea looked confused for a second the grabbed something off of a flat desk like branchand hand ed it to karin. Karin open the jar and waved it under Brylla's nose.

The bandits had finished storing their looted goods and were now busy celebrating their victory and, at the same time, mourning the loss of Rorik and their other fallen brothers. They'd broken into the create of tobacco and some had filled their pipes, while others opened the mead and filled their mugs.

Algar didn't partake in either and found himself pacing and unable to relax. He wandered into the main tunnel of the cave and noticed an obvious trail of blood. Surprised, he followed it straight to Tianea's door. It was closed, but he thought he heard voices on the other side. He hesitated only momentarily. He'd never gotten along with the woman, but if she was injured and needed help, he wasn't one to abandon her. He knocked hard, "Tianea? You okay?"

Brylla's eyes fluttered open again as the smelling salts took effect. She mumbled something incoherent, her eyes not able to focus yet on anything.
