Chain-link dog kennels for run?

I have a kennel run that is covered in hardware cloth. We used pvc to make a roof.

Hi there!
We converted a dog kennel (+ a few extra panels) into a 10ft by 20ft run for our ducks, chickens, and geese.

Here are some pictures of the process. I'm happy to share more details on how I designed it and what materials we used.

We've had it for a few years now, and it's been fantastic.

Could you provide more info on how you framed the gate? This is the only spot in my kennel run that I have not figured out to close the gaps! Every other inch is covered and secured in HWC

Sorry for the late reply!
Yes! I’ll take some pictures today and attach them here.
I got fence boards and used the same pipe straps to attach them. For some sections I screwed a 2x4 block on the other side of the doorway in order to make sure the boards were secure.
The only downside is that the boards prevent the door from opening 180 degrees. It can only go to 90 degrees, but we just use a block in front of it to hold it open during free range time.

Hello everyone!

I'm looking to upgrade my 4 silkie girls' run. I came across chain link fences. More specifically, chain link dog kennels.

1) Any recommendations for chain link dog kennels? (Links/websites would be very helpful)
2) What should I do about the open top? Any ideas for covering it? (Also, I live in FL so there's constantly rain)
I would build my own chicken run but I feel that these chain link fences are sturdier and cheaper than if I were to build my own. Additionally, I plan to line the interior of the kennel with hardcloth wire so predators won't be able to grab my girls.

TIA for your recommendations and advice! :)
I am getting ready to put a metal toof on mine
My coop is in the 10x10x6 kennel. I have 1"x6"x12' wood planks to put across top. This gives a foot overhang for rain & snow. Them the metal roof panels attach to the wood. I have chicken wire stretched over the top first, just more protection.
