Checking-In On Peeps - Post Here To Say Hello!

We have such a vibrant community here at BYC... tons of active friendly members. Of course, life gets busy, so I was thinking it would be fun to start a thread welcoming some of our peeps we haven't heard from in a while.

If that's you, come say hello and let us know what you've been up to. :)

(if that's not you, feel free to invite peeps you haven't seen in a while and say hi to those that post here)
Well, my husband’s office FINALLY made an official return to office policy this February, so it appeared that our dreams of moving to the country were actually within reach. We met with real estate agents and builders and were about to shop for loans - when the policy was abruptly reversed. So…I guess I have plenty of time to continue my research into best practices of chicken care and the breeds which might be best for us.

Hello again backyardians! We've been doing well here. Had a hen retaining water scare but she's recovered nicely. We've hit growing season so I've been very busy keeping up with the weather but I always manage to find time for my lil raptors!

Hi, Unfortunately I've been very busy. My cancer came back and isn't responding to the chemotherapy like it should. Oncologist here isn't great and doesn't seem to want to follow the specialists recommendations.
Then the neighbors dogs attacked my animals twice, killed my Sebastopol gander, severely injured both girls twice and almost killed the mini goat. Someone gave me a dozen two week old eggs from Sebastopol geese. I got two hatched a third pipped but had a severely wry beak. They are absolutely adorable and I love them to death.
We've gotten six Brahma chicks and they're growing well.
I hope everyone is well. Take care
My heart goes out to you. :hugs

I had actually forgotten about this forum. So glad to see a message in my inbox this am. My husband and I are finally in a new house where I can raise chickens. Our last house was in a development with an HOA. I am planning on getting chickens next year since I am not prepared for them yet and need to get the garden set up this year. So, this is perfect timing for me to start learning from you all as I had neglected this forum for some time due to the busy nature of moving and all. So thanks again for reaching out.

If you have any questions along the way, be sure to ask! :)

Quite unusual to get a request for commentary on a long snoozed page.I still have my birds but I don't come here any more bcz it's mostly beginners w/ fluffy-butts.I've been raising/breeding/selling game fowl for almost 60 years and the level of conversation here is kinda painful, even stupid, at times...it hurts to read it and the things ppl put their chickens through.Ya'll are nice enough ppl, just not "my" ppl.
Wishing everyone the best in your endeavors!
