Chickens Escaping

I'm noticing the escape attempts are happening more in the winter for our girls, likely because there are far fewer bugs to munch on in the yard. I've started scattering grubworm treats for them to forage for which seems to be keeping them at least a little more entertained in the dark months! I agree I think the behavior is drive by boredom/ lack of good foraging. If they have what they need in their space, they will have less reason to go beyond it.
