Thank you for your guesses back then. Are you good at sexing Barred Plymouth Rocks? We have a mystery chick that looks like both; we can't figure it out, and it's making us crazy! He-she is 9 weeks old, no cock-a-doodle-do.

I'm still having the darndest time trying to sex my 6 Dark Cornish. And once in a while I start to doubt if that's what they are, as many of the Barnevelder photos folks post look so much like them, too. Either I have all cockerels (though none of them have acted like it at all yet), or all hens (which would be inlikely!) or mix. At this point, I try to look for differences in their coloration, but I'm still waffling constantly. All my other chicks became very clear long ago!

I'm glad your DC ended up being a pullet. They are such a cool breed, and unless I'd received them by chance, I'm not sure I ever would have given them a try. Now, I think I'll always have some around!
