Spotted this guy in my yard by my duck house. He hung around all day and visited with my chickens, helping himself to scratch grains and water. I’ve never seen one of these birds in PA in my 34 years I’ve been alive and was so excited that I spent the entire day just following him around and taking pictures. There are no game bird farms nearby so I have no idea where he came from but seems very tame as he would walk right up to me when I threw scratch grains out to him. Was so excited I had to share!

If you see him tomorrow,, try to convince him to stay. Lay out the extra fine goodie treats. :drool:drool:drool:hugs
I have no information about these birds,,,, but do know that like with all living things,,,, they may hang around where there is a source of food.
Maybe is someone's pet that escaped, or was abandoned due to unknown circumstances. :idunno
WISHING YOU BEST,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,:highfive:

That is a super cute bird! I'd be just as excited to see it in my yard.

Chukar's are not native to Pennsylvania, most likely it escaped from someone in your area, or a released hunting bird.

If you have an extra pen, you may try to get into that pen by opening the door and slowly driving it into the pen. It will not survive long in a free range condition. If you decide to try and keep it, it should be fed a gamebird feed of at least 24% protein.

Judging by it's head shape, I think it is a hen?
