Columbian Rock Thread!!!!

Ok, here are a couple pix. Smallest ones here are about 6 weeks....see how darkly colored they are? The other pix is from a group that is about 3 months old

I know some breeds have a specific pattern to the feathers no matter what color they are. Is there one for CRs?

Here is The Governor...a CR about 1 year old. He scares away all male visitors. I don't need a guard dog

If you will look in the APA Standard of Perfection, there is a description for the COLUMBIAN feather pattern. This pattern can be in several breeds of birds including Plymouth Rocks, Wyandottes, Brahmas (they call them light brahma, but same pattern), Leghorns just to name a few

Everytime I look at them they have more black feathers growing in so who knows what they will end up being

I have 4 young Heritage Columbian Rocks I hatched out from eggs from Yard Full o' Rocks flock--they are very colored, spunky and active. I'll post pictures of them tomorrow!

So one of my 4 week old pullets is growing wattles and none if the others have any. Do I have a cockeral? I will try and post pics later.

Just joined this site and found this thread! We have a flock of 11 Columbian Rocks! They are about 11 weeks old! Got them for pets/ eggs. Now it looks like we may have a roo in the mix!
