I hope the owner doesn't mind, i borrowed his super design for my new Quail home. I intend on raising these as meat birds(may end up being pets). I envision putting a barrier in the middle of the hardware cloth between the 2 houses..using one side as harvest birds and the other side for select mating. The question, or concern i have is about the flooring on the house parts..I really like the idea of using 1/2x1/2 wire for cleanliness, but im figuring out what i can do in the winter to block out the cold. Does it need a cover underneath in the winter?. I was worried about cold feet. Thought of using a tarp of some kind with bungee cords or some type of slide in bottom below the wire, but yet it still blocks most of the direct cold. Any ideas are appreciated..Im having builders block..need coffee. Thanks.
