Cornish X for Thanksgiving dinner

That was my guess too. Although, I just butchered a batch this weekend, and (I was guessing due to colder weather,) I have some really small ones. I mean small- I have one that dressed at 2.5 pounds. I was shocked at the variations in size. I think my biggest dressed at 7.5 pounds. I chalked it up to the weather and competition for food/dominance??

I used a screen to make sure there weren't any bones. It's amazing how much meat is left on the carcass! My hubby won't eat soup, so I figured why let it go to waste?!
My dogs really enjoyed their Holiday.

Ar my aunt's, we had chicken on Thanksgiving instead of turkey.

I was like "Where's the turkey?" and my aunt told me "It's chicken."

I refused to eat it and ate sauage and veggies and rice instead.

The only problem was that it was a supermarket chicken. It was not homegrown, If it had been, I might've broken my 5-month rule of "No chicken"!

Wellll, I can't blame ya. Supermarket chicken just doesn't cut it anymore. I'll get a new batch of Cornish X next Spring, even my husband has become a convert. He'll take care of the birds when I am busy, now that he knows the benefits
