Crochet "Chat"

Ok, I asked another crocheting friend, she says:

"The stitch is listed in my book as an arched mesh, or it could be a stretched out arch stitch. It's a type of netting stitch with lots of chains and triple crochets to make it airy. I found a sample picture of the stitch in my Complete Encyclopedia of Stitchery"

... But I think it could also be a variation of the Leaf Bloom Stitch, without the picot. And if you want lots and lots of eye candy, look here. http://www.pinterest.com/richgirl8100/crochet-new-stitch-a-day-tutorials/
I think I love that page and I'll be there a lot. You can click to get to how-to videos too!!

I thought it looked more like a version of the ruled lattice??

Could be. But if we're sure that the pic here is right side up top, then the points would be going the wrong direction in the stitch a day. I think we'd have to have it right I front of us and be able to touch it, honestly. Individual crocheters all make the same stitches differently. Plus the really creative crocheters were making patterns that were not always written down. I'm wondering now if its a looser type of this: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/269301252691131329/

When I look at the pic above, it seems like the yellow and red rows have more going on than the navy blue row. Could be yarn thickness, but could be extra stitches there too.

Ok, breaking news! My friend just sent me an email saying that she found an unnamed pattern in the back of one of her books under a page titled "Miscellaneous". I think it's the pattern. I have no idea where she found it. Here it is:

That pattern was on the pintrest page you posted, hold on let me go find it

Good eye Kass!! I did not see that! I think that Pintrest one is ever so slightly different, plus it is made over 3 rows instead of 2. Also, to me, it looks more dense. Honestly, I think I'd have to hook- up each one to compare.

... But I think essentially both are doing same-- looks like both are decreasing in the 2nd row!

Ok, so now its time to crochet along! Who's in?
