Hi Everyone!

Just finishing up our coop. We need nesting boxes. (converted shed). I saw a lot of photos of people online using a 4 box storage cubby like this:

ClosetMaid 4549 Decorative Open Back 4-Cube Storage Organizer, White https://a.co/d/8KFxUsx
  • Measures approximately 30 in. H x 29.84 in. W x 13.5 in. D; Inside Dimensions of 1 Cube: 13.5 in. H x 13.5 in. W
It looks like most people have the 2 bottoms ones open to lay in, with a little bin inside so it's easy to pull out and clean, then the top 2 bins are used to store some chicken supplies.

Looking like we are going to end up with about 12 Hens of our 20 chickens so far. Do you think that would work?

Thanks for your time! :)

My SIL has a number of those cubby units in her house. I don't want any because they're flimsy and made of cheap chipboard that swells up and breaks if you spill anything wet on them.

I don't think they'd last long-term in a chicken coop.

If you don't want to build wooden boxes the ones people make from plastic milk crates seem to stand up well to long-term use. :)
