I am new to Cuckoo Marans and would like to see others pictures of Cuckoo Marans specifically...and any info about the breed if possible. I know that some have feathers on their feet and some don't, mine don't. Mine are 12 weeks old. When do they usually begin laying??? My other chickens began at around 20 weeks.

I loved seeing the photos of everyone's cuckoo Marans so I thought I would stop lurking and share a photo of my Frannie.... I picked her up at a feed store. She's around 18 weeks old. Absolutely loves to run around when she gets to free-range after I get out of work. She gets along well with my other four girls and is certainly one of the most entertaining. Looking forward to eggs!

Such beautiful birds! I am new to this breed and know very little about them. I have two chicks that are four weeks old, along with 8 other chicks the same age and 3 adults. I thought all Marans were French and some people just left it off the name. Silly me! I love those leg feathers! My two are clean legged, and I unfortunately do not have any photos that show them well, but they just moved from the brooder to the coop this week. Thank you for sharing pictures and some information to get me started. This is exactly why I joined BYC!

without feathers English Cuckoos or Black Cuckoos..with feathers Silver Cuckoos I don't see many Golden Cuckoos with feathered shanks I have a few will be breeding mine to the proposed SOP so that means feathered shanks. There are some really nice English Cuckoos that lay 7+ eggs most though that people have are the hatchery ones who if you are lucky lay a 4 egg. Try the Marans thread we've been busy posting pictures on there.
Here is a picture of some hatchery ones
