We finally decided to reuse the old coop that was on our "new to us" farm. It needs a lot of work, but it has a good structure and roof. My question is can my girls could contract diseases from the old structure? It does have a concrete floor, but it is quite broken up. I do have access to a power washer and plan on washing it down well with bleach... This coop hasnt been used in a minimum of 10 yrs, probably 20 is more accurate. Also, the old nesting boxes are still there, but they are rather rough old wood. I have a feeling they are going to be a pain to clean, and near impossible to sanitize. We are limited on what we can spend, but I dont want to "save money" just to end up spending more to treat sick chickies! Any advice/thoughts welcome!
