I thought this would be some good information to put out as I recently received nasty letters from some of the States listed that require additional permits.

If you ship eggs to the following States and are not NPIP certified and do not send a VS 9-3 form, then you are breaking laws:

Alabama
Arizona
Arkansas
California
Colorado
Connecticut
Delaware
Florida
Georgia*
Idaho
Illinois - ??
Indiana
Iowa
Kansas
Kentucky
Louisiana
Maine
Maryland
Massachusetts
Michigan
Minnesota*
Mississippi
Missouri*
Montana
Nebraska*
Nevada
New Hampshire* ^
New Mexico
North Carolina
North Dakota
Ohio
Oklahoma
Pennsylvania
South Carolina
South Dakota*
Tennessee
Texas - AI clean +
Utah - permit each shipmnt, and MG, MS, MM & AI clean
Vermont
Virgina* MG AI clean
Washington
West Virginia - ?? AI clean
Wisconsin

* yearly entry permit required in addition to VS 9-3
^ CVI on birds over 20 weeks
?? waiting for further information

Yes, I am NPIP certified, but on top of that some states require an additional entry permit.

I have applied for a permit with MO, MN, and GA so far. These States have no charge for their permit.

The Post Office does not "police" agricultural products, nor do they have the manpower.

I received letters because they got their copy of my NPIP form. The State of WA finally decided to send out my forms from the past couple of years.......

I got letters telling me I was shipping eggs/chicks/birds into their State illegally and to either get a permit or cease and desist. Virginia threatened me with misdemeanor charges, so no more shipments there.
