I have a flock of Dominiques 1 roo and 8 hens They are in a very large pen with access to the outside I want to get the same number in Welsummers and add to my flock Can they be kept in the same pen and will the breeds remain pure

They can be kept in the same pen but the breeds won't remain pure. Many people have a breeding pen to isolate a few hens and a roo, then you wait 3-4 weeks to collect eggs for hatching. If you plan on collecting all eggs for hatching, they will have to live separately.

Both roos will mate with both breeds of hens. When you're not incubating eggs this won't matter one bit. When you want to hatch eggs you'll need to pull a roo or seperate each group for a while. Or if you're not hatching eggs it doesn't matter.
