Thank You! About the grit.... i am not entirely sure what it is needed for. Isn't used to help them digest their food better?

Yes, it is, but chicks starters are very soft when wet, so they dont really need grit. I only give them some extra sand when I give them a solid treat like a berry or some leaves. The chick starter I have actually has some very small grit in it to aid with digestion of the feed.
