Hi All - I posted a pic of my EE Rainbow Dash a couple of weeks ago. Well now I'm convinced I have a roo...really red comb and red feathers on the wings. I will post pics this weekend for an update! I think I can keep him....roosters are allowed in my town. I am on an acre. Hope the neighbors don't hate me!
 
Ok - here are some photos of Rainbow Dash, or Bo now as I think he may be. The other EE is Muffy and I'm pretty sure she is a hen. I put in a few pics of her for comparison. They are just over 7 weeks old.

I've got these 10 birds sold to me as Ameraucanas (of course) although after further reading I suspect they are EEs (they don't seem to match any of the standard colors http://ameraucana.org/scrapbook.html). They hatched on or about May 13, 2012 and I took the pictures today putting them at 16 weeks old. I'm pretty sure I have 5 cockerels and 5 pullets. No eggs yet (min 4 months, right, but often more like 6 months?). I also have Barred Rocks.. 6 cockerels and 3 pullets. Being boy heavy I'm going to cut back on them (and keep all the girls for laying).
Anyway, I'm thinking to keep 2 cocks as I'd like to hatch some chicks sometime (next spring probably). Finally, to my question: which 2 of the 5 boys to keep?

I am leaning towards keeping this one:

Obviously I am a bit new to this but all birds are healthy and I don't have any idea how else to choose besides appearance. As mentioned, they are about 15 weeks old. I bought them from an old farmer as day olds and he is getting out of chickens so this may be the end of these bloodlines. If I have anything particularly rare (or even something that looks like it might meet ameraucana standards) I would keep those. Otherwise, I just want roosters that will produce interesting/pretty offspring with the females I have.

Soooo... pick 2 roosters. Go! :)

Keep #2! I think he's going to become gorgeous, especially with that combo of red and blue.
 
OH!!! What a difficult decision this would be for me!!! I really like the 2 you have picked but # 2 is going to be beautiful, too. Are you planning to raise chicks? If so, I think I would keep the ones you have picked. If not, pick the 2 of those three that are the "nicest"! Of course...I won't keep a chicken that doesn't play "nice" anyway!! LOL!!!

, if you want a variety of chicken colors, I'd pick one one of the black ones and pick one of the other colored roos. Also, another consideration is to see who gets along well with each other.
