Hi Everyone, I'm new to BYC and I just wanted to share my excitement about my incubating chicken eggs. Today is day 14 and I'm growing impatient. I ordered the eggs from Florida and I'must in Idaho so I am really praying for a successful hatch. The eggs are from blue partridge brahmas. Not sue if I will end up with a mixed hatch because I don't know what color the rooster was. Either way I can't wait to see the new babies. I will post more as the day gets closers if anyone is interested. Thanks for reading :)

Thank you for the feedback :) I already thought about getting him a friend. I do have a hen that loves babies for some reason so I might see if she will take the chick too. There are some barred rock chicks for sale that are close to me :)

Hi! I'm new here too! How are the incubating the eggs doing? I just started today and I would like to get some tips that could be very helpful.

I would recommend you check out @AmyLynn2374 's dry incubation method--she is a pro at incubation and is extremely helpful :) Hope your hatch is successful! Please keep us updated with how your eggs are doing! You may want to start a new thread.

Just checked temperature and humidity in the incubator and there was a rancid smell in there. Candled the eggs and 2 were dead. Down to 14 from 20 and still a week to go :(

Update: Just put the eggs in lockdown. Humidity is climbing but slowly. Currently only at 43%. I'll check it in the morning and see where its at. Everything else looks good. Babies should start hatching Saturday :) Keeping my fingers crossed.

Good luck!!
I have my first incubator hatch too
I started with 13 after candled on day 7 it down to 10
Now day 12 ...,I can't wait to candle again on day 14
So excited
