Hi. We live on the island of Kauai. You'd think it wouldn't be that hard to get some baby chicks to raise in our backyard, well I was wrong. It was so difficult to find some non-feral chicks. I was calling and checking everyday this one feed store that kept promising they would arrive soon. The same day they arrived we went to go pick some out. Unfortunately the post office had delayed delivery by 1 day and half the chicks were DOA. We "rescued" 4 babies from what was left but unfortunately 1 didn't make it. The next day we went back and got another one. Since so many were lost the feed store didn't know what was what anymore and we have no idea what breeds of chickens we got. Do you want to play GUESS THAT BREED with me? I told him we were looking for Easter eggers and thats what he tried to give us...what do y'all think? #1 and #2 I'm pretty sure are EE's but #3 and #4 have me stumped.
Also #3 is the same age and yet has tiny wing feathers, while the other 3 have full wing coverage. Chicks are about a week old. Thanks for your help.

I think you're right on the first two. Not sure what three could be. The feathers aren't coming in barred, it's got a straight comb...possibly an australorp. Number four could be a blue Andalusian

Aloha! ~ What an ordeal, sorry!! I was about to start guessing beyond the first 2 but one way to really narrow it down is to know what Hatchery the feed store got them from. Do you happen to know?? They're so cute!! 🤙

Yes i think he said Ideal hatchery in Texas.

1 and 2 look like Easter Eggers, 3 has a head spot, so I believe it'll be barred. It could be a Barred Rock, or maybe a male Black Sex-link or Cuckoo Maran. 4 doesn't have a head spot, so it's probably fully blue, and could be a Blue Australorp or Andalusian in that case.

Update #1 chick number 3 is coming in barred so has me thinking barred rock. Number 4 still has me stumped, I've attached a photo, im thinking some kind of maran? What do you think?
