Feeder ideas

I am looking for feeder ideas/ designs, I will have the feeder inside or is this a bad plan?I am plannind on have five to six hens.

You've come to the right place. I'm sure someone will have some ideas, but that someone is not me. I use a store bought feeder.

Have you checked out the contest entries (located at the top of the Feeding and Watering your Flock section)? There's tons of ingenius ideas. Many involve scrap lumber, old buckets or PVC pipe.

I got many good ideas from the info in the educational section of BYC; I'm making a feeder this week based on one of the ideas using a 5 gal pail and an oil pan; I'm making a smaller version as the chicks have outgrown the first feeder(borrowed from a friend) . The 25 5-week olds need more feed and hung higher to reduce oops poops in the feeder. Good luck!
