I don't know when I can get a coop built. I have heavy predator pressure here so I have more planning and material collecting to do. That and spring is early so already grass cutting and weeding is taking too much time! lol I know I shouldn't complain.

I am having so much fun reading about the different chicken breeds. I really have no idea what I'll end up with, probably what the feed store has when I get the coop built. So far this year I've seen White Leghorns, Silver Lace Wyandottes, Golden Laced Wyandottes, and some production reds.

When I was a kid we had little black "banties" running around, never had a chicken house, they nested in our carport and my dad made a roost in the corner for them. Now I'm wondering what breed they were, and where they came from.

I hope you post more pics of the babies, I'm looking forward to seeing them grow!
