My two broody silkies have 6 eggs altogether and two of them I noticed had a pip this morning. I hear chirps coming from inside the two eggs and feel some movement when I picked them up. I moved them to a bathroom in my house and put a kids humidifier in there on low just to add some moisture.
Since this morning, no more egg breakage, it’s hard to view exactly what’s happening because I have two silkies diligently sitting on them.
Should I just wait it out? I’ve heard of chicks getting trapped inside membrane because it dried out before the chick could break free. I know 24 hrs is not uncommon for chicks to completely hatch, but I’m not sure when the first pip happened. It could have been anywhere from 12-18 hours ago.
Any advice would be awesome!!
Thank you!!
