First time chicken owner

Was hoping somebody could help me sex this "dude." We rescued him from a lady who lived in town and couldn't have roosters. She thought he was a rooster, but I haven't heard him make a sound. Two to three months old. Thanks.

His feathering is partially obscured by the very cute kid holding him, but he appears to be an Easter Egger cockerel - or young rooster.
