Welcome to you both!
Hey!In North Jacksonville Florida here. I am fairly new to chickens. This will be my first winter. I have been reading lot on this site and have learned a lot from it. I'm happy I found it! Lots of great info in these pages! Hope to see some of you around.
This guy looks more like a GFF lines rather than the Jill Rees lines but his tail carry and type and comb are devine if it is GFF. Nice roo. I am not an expert by any means. I have Jill Rees roos and they are much creamier with very little red bleed in the saddle areas. BUT, combs are crooked as heck! wonky, I call them. LOL
This little girl is very nicely colored. She also looks more like a GFF lines than the Jill Reese. I, yep, yet again, have a Jill Rees girlie who has a full crest although to the point of not being able to see where she is going. I trim her feathers away from her face especially her eyes. Her feathers around her eyes look like they are rooted in her eyeballs they are so close. Her sisters though, sold to someone else, have nice full crests but not as full or disabling as my girl's.[/URL]
not sure of the line. My daughter gave me three chicks for Christmas. She bought them from west Palm beach pet store. They are the parents of said roos. (Pictures of parents)
Yep, my other friend's girls have that comb over as well. But one of my girls is from her pens and she does not have it...so far. Never know what will pop from chickens do ya? Very nice looking group and a super nice gift as well. I see they are loved and spoiled.
