Hey y’all. So today I noticed two of my Easter Egger hens have these weird blackish lesions on the tops of their feet. I did some research but it doesn’t look like bumblefoot or anything else to me. I have no idea what they are, so I just decided to keep an eye on them.
Then, a couple of minutes ago I was putting everyone to bed and I noticed a yellow lesion that looks like fowl pox on a bantam hen’s comb. (I have dealt with fowl pox before, but that was 4 years ago. The we only have one hen left from that batch of chickens).
This got me thinking: if one of my hens has fowl pox, could anyone else? And could these lesions I am seeing on the hens feet be some strange way the virus is presented?
What do y’all think about it?
