Hi so I have looked through my chickens feathers and I can’t see any bugs or eggs. Their skin looks normal. No bites, sores or bald areas. One of my chickens isn’t laying eggs. The others laying normal. My greatest layer is still laying 6 eggs a week . However the whites of her eggs are a bit watery. In addition she has frayed or missing feathers or just some shafts with no feathers on her wings and tail. Also somedays her wings look like they have been wet or greasy like she’s chewed them and her saliva made them look that way. I have searched all chickens and can see no bugs. I hung a white paper towel near roost and saw a teeny tiny bug on it. So I assumed mites. Didn’t use magnifying glass to see what kind? Gave them a permethrin dust bath, doused the coop with the permethrin spray, area around coop with dust, sprayed wood chips they lay on in yard and put the 1% ivermectin on necks. 7 days later did another dust and spray. 7 days later will be this Sunday and planned on doing another dust , spray and more ivermectin. So will be the 3rd treatment of spray and dust and 2nd of ivermectin. Do I need to do the spray/ dust a 4th time ? Do I need to do ivermectin more than this 2nd time? Did I use the wrong treatment bc I can’t identify the mite? Did I treat them for No reason? Can anyone with experience tell me what the feathers tell you she has? Any help would be appreciated

If you have done all those treatments, I would wait and see if you find more bugs in the coop or on the birds.
Run a white paper towel under the roosts tonight to see if you get any more bugs.

As for her feather condition. Even if the mites have been eradicated, the feathers will continue to look like that until she molts and new feathers come in.

Thank you for the response. With mites they say to do at least 3 if not 4 treatments so should I go ahead with the 3rd dust and spray treatment in a few days?

Oh good, you got rid of them then!
The photos you posted doesn't look like molt. Molting happens in a specific pattern starting at the head/neck, then down the back, breast, wings and tail, so did you see that begin? She's already molted at the head/neck, etc.?

I hope I got rid of them. I don’t think it looks like molting either. only molting on wings and tail. I’m just going to keep coop clean and watch for bugs or other signs.
