Hello!

Does anyone else on here have some Friesian Fowl? I've been doing searches, but if it's not horses, it's cows...

I was hoping to see photos of other peoples' birds and find out what you think of them.

I think friesian gulls are essentially friesian fowl - they are from the Netherlands - look up friese hoen as that's there true name from their country of origin, I'm sure you may frind more breeders and information that way, The only thing that confuses me slightly as to whether they are the same is this "lemon pencilled", as chamois pencilled, gold pencilled and silver pencilled are the only recognised colours of this breed I'm not sure where this colour will have come from

Google won't give me links to BYC threads... It's you people I'd like to talk to

Do a search at the upper right section of this page. BYC threads will show up. The breed may or may not exist in the USA . They are pretty birds from what you can see on Feathersite.

All I get is people talking about their horses. I guess I'll just have to write myself off as being the only one on here to have some of the bird variety!

Yes, but I'm in the UK (silly of me not to add that to my profile).

I did a ton of research before picking which breeds I'd like to keep (I'm a new chicken-keeper - they're still only chicks!) and Friesians came top of the list.
They
a) are small large fowl
b) eat very little
c) produce big eggs for their size
d) are egg-producing machines
e) are listed as a rare breed
f) seem to be quite popular

f) in the UK anyway. I can't believe I've found something the UK has that the US doesn't.
