Hi,

I recently bought a Golden Pheasant hen fathered by a red golden.

Iv read many different things, should be olive legs and should be orange/yellow?

What should the correct colour be?

Also any info on the orange hue on her beak and eye?

Thanks

Hybrid. Legs are wrong for both species and the chest is wrong for a golden.
Great thanks, what should I be looking for in the chest? And have you any images of a pure? (I am in the UK) so I feel like hybrids are probably nationwide for us now which is a shame.

Can you post some more pics, from different angles?....side, top, back, etc....the olive color legs don't bother me, lots of Golden hens have olive color legs. The red/pink around the eye is a little troubling....some do have a reddish color eye lid but not the much surrounding the eyes.

I did try to get closer but didn’t want to stress her. She’s also only 15 weeks old

She could possibly have some crossbreeeding in her ancestry, her tail feathers don't look like a Goldens but that will probably change on her next molt. The yellow 'flakes' of her crest feathers would indicate she is a Golden. I have many Goldens and their leg color varies from yellow to olive.. The other hen looks to be Golden and the cockbird as well.

Thanks for your help!!

You’ve given me a little hope now. Hopefully her chicks will be more like the others. Try and push out whatever her line has in it

Many thanks
