Golden's breeding

I just separated (into their own pens) my yellows & reds over the weekend. My question is how long should I wait before the eggs laid are "definitely" reds & yellows? I read 7days on one site another said 18 days?

I would say their first clutch which is 6-12 eggs.They should be set up for breeding in Jan.,this is their courtship season.

I saw the red male breed the yellow hen 2 days BEFORE I separated them. How long will male red's sperm stay active in the hen? How many eggs/weeks/days before I can be sure that the yellow hen lays eggs that will be pure yellow?
