Good leg has a swollen toe!

Hi all,

I have a chicken who broke her leg (named Marissa) she has managed to get around and is a complete champ about it! A couple of days ago I noticed that Marissa had a swollen toe on her good foot. She doesn’t even seem to notice anything’s wrong and seems to be in no pain. Could it just be from all the weight put on the toe?? If so how can I help her!? The toe nail seems very close to falling off and is extremely wiggly... I tried wrapping up her toe up for extra support— it didn’t do anything.

The toe looks like it may be infected. Maybe she poked something in it? In the pic there is something dark brown sticking out of the toe next to the toe nail. What is that?
