groundhog, threat or not?

Ok, I am getting rid of this little guy. I will try getting him out "nicely" before resorting to letting my DH and DS out back with their weapon of choice.

He will be to your garden if you have one, but not to your chickens!

Good luck on getting rid of him! Let us know how the kitty litter works.

You try emptying dirty water into the hole, remembering that he will have an entrance and an exit. They abhor flooding. Woodchucks usually have a platform nest about half-way above the bottom of the main burrow. This could be a nesting female, something else to consider. They like protected sites on slopes the best and like skunks, once established they regard themselves as permanent residents.

And if you are going to move (her) it needs to be done with a tenderheart trap, soon. That burrow is going to get BIG, fast.

I have a ground hog living under a shed in the yard that I'm about to turn into one of those maggot feeders in a bucket for the chickens. Wife has given it the ok as long as the smell doesn't become too much of a problem.
