I can not look at these guys without cracking up. They look HORRIBLE. They'll improve, I'm sure, but OMG ugly teenagerhood is ugly.

It only lasts about 2 weeks at *most*, then all of a sudden you've got small chicken moochers running around who don't lay eggs yet.

Mine were so scraggly and ugly that me and my DH were wondering WHY we were keeping these mutt chickens...

Then, over night, they turned GORGEOUS! We gave them princess-type names and they started laying soon after.

SO funny how something so unappealing can become so pretty

I've decided I'm going to add to this thread as they grow out -- just the chick in the first, since she's got the most obvious markings. She's improved a *bunch* already.
