Growing grass in the pen

I was going to do something like a frame with the wire but then we had the ladder my husband was just going to cut up for firewood. It worked out quite nicely to grow the grass because of all the rungs keeping the fat hens from pushing the plastic wire down. I think I'll leave it there for a while to see if they'll be able to enjoy it with the ladder in place. If not, I'll move the ladder and let them have at it and start a new patch elsewhere.
