Has the time come that I might get an egg?!
I have never raised chicks to hens before. All other chickens I have been given were already laying. So this is new territory for me. My mix of RIR, red sex link, leghorn and a barred rock are 18 weeks. And I've noticed a couple of girls have bigger and brighter combs. I know this is a sign of laying but is this the bigger size or will they get even bigger? I have 2 pictures for size comparison from 2 sisters.
