I just wanted to share this story as a sub plot in the World Series. While today's athletes tend to be egotistical jerks and glory hounds sometimes a story emerges mostly from bit players that are thankful for their opportunity and give you hope for mankind. While I am a fringe baseball fan but like to see my local sports teams do well and living in the Boston area success has been a regular thing the last 10 years or so. Anyway this is a story involving Jonny Gomes and game 4 of the World series. While not a superstar,just a average baseball player he became one in a 5 year old superstars world. This story warms your heart, brings a welling up in your eyes and hope in the world.
