Yes , I've got the hatching bug bad! I just purchased 2 dozen apparently fertile eggs from a nearby farmer. He's no chicken expert but has Rhode Island Reds, Wyandots, Buf Orpingtons, ISA(?) Leghorns,Red star, and Barred Rocks running free amidst his cattle herd. They are in beautiful shape and I just bought 2 dozen eggs @ 3$ per dozen. I'm curious what type of chickens I get from this barnyard mix. Included is a picture of the eggs before I set them in my incubator. (One is extremely dark and almost looks like a Maran . . )All I can say is that we bought a dozen brown eggs to eat and they were the best I've ever had!

You will end up with a rainbow flock. Be sure to post pictures of the chicks when they hatch, and then update periodically as they grow. It will make for a fun thread. Good luck.

The dark ones are anybody's guess since he is no expert and he may have other breeds not mentioned.
There is no leghorn egg in the group.
The rest could be any of the aforementioned breeds.
