Hello! I have 9 4 wk old Pekin ducklings that are showing signs of respiratory infections. I am not able to get into my vet until Monday April 22nd, and they will not survive that long. I have liquid amoxicillin that I am able to administer via syringe without dilution. Does anyone know the proper dosage/lb of pure amoxicillin?

Thank you in advance for any advice!

Your amoxicillin has 250 mg per 5 ml, wich means each ml has 50 mg.

The dose I would use is 125 mg/kg and the math for that is:
Weigh in pounds, divide by 2.2, times 125, divide by 50

One pound:
1 / 2.2 x 125 /50 = 1.14 ml twice a day for 7-10 days

Does that help?

Yes it does. Thank you SO much. I will keep you updated on their response to medication. We’ve already lost one so it’s a gamble at this point. Thank you again for being so helpful.

If you can, see if you can get some Baytril (enrofloxacin) overnighted. Google "bayrtil for birds" or "enrofloxacin for birds".
