I bought my hens at 8 weeks old, but I am now unsure whether the buff sussex is a hen or a cock.
It is not laying and although not cock-a-doodle-doing it is making alot more noise than my hens.
It has been rather aggressive to the others and so I have had to seperate it.
As these are my first hens I would be very grateful for any advice thanks.

Wow, that's a tough one. Huge wattles and comb but I don't see any pointy saddle feathers, and the hackle feathers don't have that pointy, shiny look either. I think he/she/it also stands like a hen.

Not much help I'm afraid, just also wanted to thank you for posting a photo of a Buff Sussex, they're not exactly thick on the ground over here.

Let us know what you find out.

Edited to add: I just looked at the pics that hollywoodchickens linked to. Yours is colored like a hen too. I'm going to cast a vote for her as a hen with very well-endowed wattles.
