Help!!!

When they got sick I changed out the water-er and moved the coop. (I guessed that they'd go through 2.5 gallons of water a day since even during the hottest part of summer the 5 gallon water-er was usually about half gone in 24 hours sometimes a little more. And that is exactly what they do, Even though the weather is turning cold preparing for winter.. )

Also a new development .. not happy right now... they now have black dots on their combs. I have raised these chicks from day one. All are only 4-5 months old. Granted this is my first flock. I am getting very disheartened. What is this??? How do I help them???

The black spots look like scabs. Probably from light skirmishes and pecking order stuff.

It *could* be fowl pox, but it really doesn't look like it.

Either way, you don't need to do a thing unless you start seeing lethargy, not eating or drinking, hunching/puffing, bubbly eyes, runny beak, sneezing, wheezing, or gasping. :)

Have you wormed your flock lately? I recommend Valbazen liquid goat wormer.
