Hen or Roo? Maran or Australorp?

Yeah I'm still leaning cockerel. Stance and shoulders look male to me and behavior sounds male too. Perhaps just a late bloomer in the feathering Dept.

I’ve never read that wing barring is solely a cockerel trait. But if you can educate me on that, that would be appreciated. In my opinion, it was/is pullet. Though now OP has stated it’s new behaviours are crowing and mounting, I do believe it is a cockerel.

I just meant how the wings/shoulders are coloring in very stark contrast to the rest of the body. I've always thought that was a male sex specific trait. I would also have expected to see some kind of matching saddle/hackle feathers as well though

White one is a Roo! Others look clearly female.

the first picture looks like a French Blue Copper Marans, but I am not an expert. She just looks a lot like my French Blue Marans.

You all are much more adept at sexing birds than I am! I would have bet the white one was a pullet up until the crowing started. Now I will always be second guessing myself because I’ve always counted on tail feathers, combs and spurs to figure it out!
