Yeah I'm still leaning cockerel. Stance and shoulders look male to me and behavior sounds male too. Perhaps just a late bloomer in the feathering Dept.

I just meant how the wings/shoulders are coloring in very stark contrast to the rest of the body. I've always thought that was a male sex specific trait. I would also have expected to see some kind of matching saddle/hackle feathers as well thoughI’ve never read that wing barring is solely a cockerel trait. But if you can educate me on that, that would be appreciated. In my opinion, it was/is pullet. Though now OP has stated it’s new behaviours are crowing and mounting, I do believe it is a cockerel.
