Thank youMale, Barred Rock.
That happened to a friend of mine a few weeks ago. She got 12 BSLs and one of them ended up being an Old English Game Bantam cockerel, lol.Ohhhhhhh ok! I didn’t think they did. Well I guess my little sex link pullet ended up in the wrong bin at our feed store.
Not a Barred Rock, because the chick has feathered feet and Rocks have clean feet.Male, Barred Rock.
Omg!!! Yes you pick 6 chicks from a bin that says they are all the same breed and all pullets and then you end up with a rooster. Guess he jumped in with the girls when he had the chance. That happened to a friend of mine a few weeks ago. She got 12 BSLs and one of them ended up being an Old English Game Bantam cockerel, lol.
Wow that’s interesting!!! They said they were all sex links pullets. However this one was black with a white dot on its head and I read that meant it’s a male but I was hoping I was wrong. Well he’s turning out to be beautiful so I might have to keep him. Thanks so much for the info!!!!He’s a “midnight majesty marans” (or a mystic marans) cockerel, which is a sex-linked marans cross produced by hatcheries. He’s not a cuckoo marans because a cuckoo would be lighter due to being pure for the barring gene (he is impure for the barring gene, causing him to be darker like a barred hen). Here’s an example of what I’m talking about:
