Hen swallowed piece of broccoli stem and it's stuck in throat

Does anyone have any clue how to get this out? Will it go down by itself?

Try massaging it down.Most of the time they get it down.

Thank you. It's always something new. I will leave the stems whole or cook them from now on. It's a big piece. I feel bad. She's my oldest.

Is she having trouble breathing listen closely?

No but a little fluid came out of her mouth. She's twisting her neck and stretching it out. She's not moving around much either.

Yep.She is trying to get it down.I would say give her live oil but she cant swallow.

I just checked her again. It is further down her little throat. She is already up on the roost for the night, but she seems better. Nothing came up when I picked her up and massaged her throat this time. If it's still there in the morning I might try a little oil. Thank you for your help. I thought she'd get it down but it's so nice to get another opinion and so quickly. Thanks!

No problem.Hopefully she gets it down tonight but if not just keep massaging it.

Hi she seems to have it down into her crop but is still very lethargic and spitting up brown liquid. I massaged her crop several times today and gave a little olive oil but it seemed to come back up. She did get out and scratch around a little and drank a little water. Just now came in from closing them up and I couldn't find her! She was standing in the corner of the shed. Lots of gurgling sounds coming from her gut. I don't smell anything like maybe sour crop. I put her up on the roost to stay warm with the others. I hope she perks up tomorrow.
