I am trying not to laugh. I so feel your pain. I am just resigned to having either chickens, or a garden, and I just keep choosing my chickens.
When I found my first hen with fluffy butt feathers up and beak down in a pot of dianthus, it was just SO adorable. Later, when the dianthus bits were scattered all over the place and Lacey had her whole body inside that pot, dust-bathing and kicking out soil like a demon, it was still cute.
The house I bought has a concrete planter bed all along the length of the porch, which runs the full width of the house. I knew it would never hold flowers. The whole flock loves to dust bathe in it.
Just look at that little wing hanging outside the box.... Now how could you NOT love that???? they look so happy and content. Time for another box for herbs. one for them, one for you!
