How old was your Silkie when she laid her first egg?

I'm 5 months in with my first chickens and it feels like torture waiting for my first egg! One of my silkies has been squatting for the past week and today checking out all the nests in the yard for the first time though they have been there for a month unnoticed. Is this a sign? She's 5 1/2 months.
