Thank you so much gjensen. I will pick up some rabbiteye's this fall. And I guess I will pass on the Southern Highbush. I also like natives and try to find them.

Depends on your chill hours to. I am picturing you in the middle of the State with 800 chill hours. In SC rabbit eyes are good until we get into our upstate. There are not any high chill hour rabbiteyes.

I'm zone 8a in Louisiana. We're lucky to get 250. No snow at all.

No, but zone 8 is a broad subject. Regardless, you are in a fine place for rabbiteyes. I am at the transition of 7 and 8 in SC.

For us northerners, lol, looks like these are a northern plant with many uses. Who knew? We always chewed on the leaves as kids and enjoyed teaberry flavored gum. Note= once source mentions it is toxic at high levels but fails to list a specific level.

I want to but I'll order a big one in the fall. I can't wait for years to get blueberries. There is a huge orchard about 15 miles from me. Not friendly people at all. So no cuttings. sigh
